Smoothie – Post Workout

Looking for a post-workout smoothie to help you refuel and recover. Why not give this simple recipe a try.

1 cup spinach
1.5 cups coconut water
1 frozen banana – chopped
1 Tablespoon of nut or seed butter
2 Tablespoons plain full fat yoghurt
1-2 teaspoons of raw honey

Blitz everything together without the honey and then add honey to taste.

This smoothie is packed with electrolytes, proteins, and carbohydrates to replenish lost energy stores. And the combination of almond butter and Greek yoghurt gives your body a healthy dose of protein to help your muscles recover. Honey also has a lower glycemic index than processed sugar so helps keep your sugar levels balanced.

Cinnamon honey adds an extra delicious kick and also works as an anti-inflammatory to help with any strains and sprains.

Feel free to play with the recipe and tweak to your taste. A handful of blueberries is also delicious and will add antioxidants to the smoothie.
